The Megawatt is the headline of Black Diamond's Fall 2026 lighting lineup, which the company describes as its biggest headlamp refresh in years, and it is built for a job ordinary headlamps are not. This is Black Diamond's first light designed for moving fast in the dark, aimed at pre-dawn ski tours, descents that run past sunset and mountain bike rides at full pace, where the beam has to work at speed rather than around a campsite. It made the cut on output and on how that output is managed. Six LEDs deliver up to 3,000 lumens, the most of any light in the range. The power comes from a separate 50.32 Wh rechargeable battery that runs four hours at maximum, shows live remaining burn time on an LCD screen, carries a red safety flasher and doubles as a USB-C power bank for other devices. A wireless remote mounts to a ski pole, pack strap or handlebar so brightness can be changed without stopping, and the lamp itself mounts by headband or a universal GoPro-style system with helmet mounts. The head unit weighs 75 g, the full system 480 g, and the housing is IP67 waterproof and dustproof. Black Diamond also notes shipping restrictions on the page, including that the product cannot be shipped to Canada and a list of US states. The price is USD 379.95. Availability needs a flag: at check, the product page showed Sale Out of Stock in its visible state while its structured data reported the light as in stock, so confirm before ordering. The verdict: a serious speed light, sold with an honest stock question still attached
