Arc'teryx has brought back the Sidewinder Jacket for its 25th anniversary, reviving a freeride shell first released in 2001.
The Sidewinder is one of those pieces that quietly shaped a category. Its long, waterproof design and its use of GORE-TEX set a template for freeride shells that many brands have followed since, and its return is a reminder of how much of modern outerwear owes to early-2000s Arc'teryx.
The Sidewinder Jacket is made from N80p GORE-TEX 3L fabric, has a waterproof and breathable construction, and is priced at $650. The 25th Anniversary edition is available in Black and a limited-edition Aquaculture colourway. The 2026 Sidewinder range also includes the Sidewinder Boot, though the boot was not detailed in a reachable Arc'teryx release during this pass, so no boot specs are included here.
A welcome return for a shell that defined a category.
