The Kaweco COLLECTION Fountain Pen in Marble Ocean takes the familiar Sport silhouette, a pocket pen shape that dates back to 1911, and gives it a finish inspired by the sea. Turquoise, green and clear sections swirl through the barrel in shifting proportions, so the pen in hand will not match the pen in the photograph exactly, and will not match any other example either. That variation is the point of this release, rather than a flaw in production. It made the cut because the Sport remains one of the most honest entry points into fountain pens, and this edition adds genuine individuality without changing a proven design or raising the price into special edition territory. The lightweight ABS body measures 10.5 cm closed and 12.7 cm with the cap posted, it arrives fitted with a Royal Blue ink cartridge, and the gold-plated nib unscrews so it can be swapped for another Kaweco 060 nib later.
Kaweco lists five nib sizes, from extra fine to extra broad, with the medium version verified here at EUR 29.95 on the brand shop. The pen and its nibs are made in Germany, optional clips and pouches are sold separately, and Kaweco states plainly that COLLECTION models stay in the range for a limited time only, so availability by nib size will narrow first. Verdict: a small, inexpensive pen made genuinely collectible by colour alone, and worth buying in the nib size you actually want while that size lasts
