# July Capsule Carry On Pro - The Carry-On That Packs From the Top

The Capsule Carry On Pro is July's attempt to rethink how a cabin case is actually used, by opening from the top in the manner of a trunk rather than splitting down the middle like a book. That single change alters the routine in a small hotel room, where a case that stands in a corner and loads downwards is easier to live with than one that demands a full bed or floor to open flat. It made the cut because the rest of the specification supports the idea instead of decorating it. A magnetic QuickGrab front panel gives quick access to a jacket, passport or tickets without opening the main compartment, and there is a separate front pocket with an anti-slip laptop section sized for machines up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro class. CaseSafe tracking is built into the included TSA compliant lock and works with both Apple Find My and Google Find My Device, so there is no separate tag to buy, charge or lose. The shell is aerospace-grade German polycarbonate, the zippers are YKK, the wheels are lockable SilentMove Pro spinners on the rear pair, and a Y-strap system compresses the load, with a hidden laundry bag and a hidden pocket for sensitive items worked into the lining. The case sold out quickly at launch earlier in 2026 and has since been restocked, listed at US$395 on July's US store and shown in stock at this check. Verdict: The most practical new idea in cabin luggage this year, sensibly priced for what it replaces
